Curriculum Overview
The curriculum at Wings of Hope Academy is an integrated liberal studies core including
world and US history, geography, government, economics, science, art, literature, and writing.
Language Arts
Individual and small group work on spelling, vocabulary, grammar, writing, Latin and Greek word-parts, reading strategies, fluency, comprehension skills and literature studies. Most students spend 8-13 hours per week in intensive language arts work.
Math
Students begin at their own level and move at their own pace, with adult support as needed, through one of eight programs chosen with that student’s needs in mind.
Keyboarding - Students use one of four computer-based typing programs at their own pace.
Foreign Language - Tell Me More, Rosetta Stone, and Live Mocha computer-based interactive immersion software is used.
Supplemental High School Classes offered in rotation
Critical Thinking / Current Events / Study Skills / Personal Finance / Health / School-to-Career Public Speaking / American Government
Concurrent MATC enrollment
High school seniors (and occasionally juniors) are encouraged to enroll in one or two courses concurrently at MATC with our support to help with the transition to post-high school education.
